Miriam Cahn stands tall as an example of a true artist. True artists like Miriam Cahn remind us of what art’s original unique place was and is. To show us how we feel things — not how we think them. She has made a name for herself without needing a differentiating gimmick. She is not driven by an urge to innovate the practice of art, to be different, to push an agenda, to sound smart… She is not driven by vanity. Her success outside of the self-serving realm of innovation-driven art gives hope that art can return to its non-pretentious, humble place as, simply, a medium to find and express emotional truths.
